Lovely as a Tree!

I shared this card on my Facebook Live last week where I used Lovely as a Tree.  As I explained on the Live, I started out by stamping the fisherman from Best Catch in Memento ink onto the center of the Very Vanilla c/s layer.  I didn't know where the card was headed from there.  From there, I colored my tree stamp with a Garden Green and Soft Suede marker and stamped it to the upper left of the fisherman. The water looks very real, doesn't it?  I wish I had colored the water directly around the fisherman, but I instead built up the lake using the water stamp from High Tide and the Pacific Point ink.  That's one color that I haven't used a lot lately, but it's perfect for the water on this card.  To stamp the water, I started in the center of the cardfront, directly below the fisherman, then re-inked each time and stamped to the left and right, almost like I was laying bricks if that makes sense?

Hmm... what should I add next?!

Well, the mountains from Waterfront using Crumb Cake classic ink was the next image to be stamped.  I then masked the mountains and stamped the Mango Melody sun peeking behind it.  The only 2 things left to do were fill in my grass which I did with Garden Green ink and a blender pen, and to sponge my sky: I used the Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight inks to color the sky -- I'm sorry it's difficult to see the sponging!

Well, that's my card for today!  Have you been following the retirement party that Stampin' Up! has been sponsoring online?  It's almost the end of another Stampin' Up! catalog and sadly, Lovely as a Tree will be leaving us.  For my product spotlight, I've been featuring the Lovely as a Tree stamp set on my Facebook page and will continue to do so for another few days.  If you use the Hostess Code, D7N2NTWA and purchase the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, I will send you a card using this stamp set, and will also send you 1/2 package of the Leaf Trinkets.

Thanks for checking out my card today! Join me tomorrow for another Lovely as a Tree card or project!

Welcome Little One!

I had so much fun making this card!  I've spent the last few weeks creating cards using bundles, stamp sets, punches and framelits that are going away.

Unfortunately the wood crate framelits are one of those products I'm sad to see them go.  Doesn't this Momma Roo look so proud?!  She's sporting the latest pouch for her wee little koala!  I stamped Momma on Sahara Sand c/s in Memento Ink, then colored her in with the Light Crumb Cake blend.  Baby Koala is colored in with the light Smoky Slate blend.

The balloon is stamped in Mint Macaron ink using the Balloon Celebrations stamp set, cut out with the Balloon punch that is retiring.  I cut double crates for wagons - my back wagon is basically embossed because I cut both layers at the same time.  I then offset slightly to make it look 3D.  The wheels are Basic Black circles punched out with the 1" circle punch.  The "hubcaps" are champagne foil punched out with the 3/4" circle punch (retiring ... do you have yours yet?!).  Oh yes, and the handle is just a scrap of paper that I found in my recycling - basically it's 1/8" by about 4" and I cut off just a tad for the handle for the pull bar. The words for the sentiment are stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on one of the framelits from the Wood Crate set again - the stamps are part of the Animal Outing stamp set.  I had no problem lining up the words!  I used a snippet of Old Olive linen thread.  I colored the leaves on the stamped branch with Mossy Meadow blends after stamping it in Memento ink, used a bronze blend for the branch itself, and the frog is a pleasant Granny Apple Green blend color.  The last little item?  More branches cut from Mossy Meadow scraps using the frame lit from the Animal Outing bundle.

I layered my Very Vanilla piece on a  Soft Suede mat,  then layered on a Mossy Meadow base!  That's all!  I'm entering this card in the SUO Challenge blog -- this is a perfect "celebration" card!

*I include a supply list on the bottom of every blog post.  I try to include every color I've mentioned that I use to stamp or punch with.  Please remember that I have LOTS of scraps, inks, stamps, etc.  Use whatever colors work for you!  Just make sure you have fun!!
