All My Love Valentine Sampler and Cards

It was our retreat last weekend, and I had the pleasure of designing a Valentine Sampler.  I consider the 12" x 12" sampler my specialty - I've done one for every major holiday (Valentine's Day, Christmas, Halloween), as well as every season (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter).  My shelf is full of my various samplers, and I've been privileged to teach/share these samplers for quite some time.

When Stampin' Up! unveiled their Valentine's paper this year, I knew it was time to design another sampler.

I made a set of matching cards, since not everyone has unlimited wall or shelf space. I wrote a tutorial with step-by-step directions if anyone would like to use it personally or in a class.

*The picture above shows 4 of the 7 cards -- the tutorial gives directions for 7 cards, similar in layout and stamps to the frame above.

I used the All My Love designer paper to make this sampler, and I used both of the 2019 featured Valentine's stamp sets and framelits, as well as a variety of other stamps and framelits.  Check out my supply list below, and if you're interested in purchasing the tutorial, click on the PayPal button below.  The cost is $15.00 which includes the tutorial for the 12"x 12" sampler frame and for 7 matching cards.

*This tutorial may be used by other Demos for their own in-person classes but may not be sold online or forwarded to others.  (I will respond as quickly as I can with sending the tutorial, but have not yet purchased a program to send it to you immediately. If I am away from my computer, it may take a little while.)

My Yankee Swap for our Team Christmas Party

Yesterday was our team Christmas party held at my up-upline's house.  What a fun time we have every year!!  There's no shortage of food and fun and visiting at these events!!

The highlight of the Christmas/holiday get-together is our 3D Yankee swaps.  Each year we raise the bar just a little bit higher with the quality and imagination that goes into these events.

I found some clear glass ornaments at Hobby Lobby in September and kind of knew what I wanted to do with them.  Here's what I came up with (*please excuse that one of these ornaments used a retired set of framelits!)

To make these, I cut a 3" circle of Balmy Blue c/s, then cut off 1 1/2cm from the bottom (the ornaments had a flat base).  I then cut scenes from the Holiiday Home framelits, the Bethlehem edgelets and the Card Front Builder framelits (? last year's framelits?)  I then inserted the scenes into the ornaments but using a hot glue gun to attach to the bottom, followed by a generous sprinkling of glitter.  The ornaments/3D swaps didn't necessarily have to use Stampin' Up! products although it was encouraged.  I loved the Card Builder set from last year and knew it would be a great addition to my ornaments.

That's all for today!!  Soon I'll start sharing my swaps that I've made the past few days/weeks!!

Skating Snowman

It's official!  Today, January 2nd, is the last day to order this cool dude!!  I just love snowmen, and the snowmen in the Spirited Snowman set it no exception!!

Isn't he so joyful?!  That's how I choose to live my life ... joyfully.  That's a New Year's resolution for me -- to find the joy in many if not all situations!

So, back to my snow-skating dude.  I used the new Buffalo Check stamp to stamp my background (yay, carrying over!), but the Spirited Snowman stamp set is retiring at MN tonight, January 2nd, 2019.  Check out the recipe below, but hurry and get your Holiday
Occasions stamp sets now before they go away!!

Use the hostess code, YAFEAX9D, to get a special gift from me (if your order is over $50).

Card Recipe:

Whisper White thick c/s: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Balmy Blue c/s: 4" x 5 1/4", stamped with Buffalo Check stamp set using Balmy Blue ink
Poppy Parade c/s: 3" x 4 1/4"
Balmy Blue c/s: 2 3/4" x 4"
Whisper White c/s: 2 1/2" x 3 3/4", stamped with Spirited Snowman skating snowman image (toward top of WW c/s piece, and "Winter Cheer" sentiment in center bottom of c/s piece.

Color your snowman with Stamping Blends: alternate light and dark Balmy Blend marker on hat, Poppy Parade blend on stripes of scarf and hat as well as skates. Color twig arms and legs using Bronze blend, plus light Smoky Slate blend on skate blades.

Layer all pieces together and add small snowflake from Seasonal Layers frame lit dies (cut with Big Shot using magnetic platform), attaching with a glue dot.

Happy New Year friends!!  Happy stamping!
